A Leverage fic

Hey!

Okay, so it has been ages since I posted anything in here but I've been writing! I got all excited and said I'd be posting tons in here and I have not. *shakes head* So there's this show I love...Leverage. It's a fun show. And it keeps inspiring me! Which of course freaks me out! Yeah, I know...inspiration freaks me out simply because I don't know if what I'm writing sucks royally. Anyway, here's one...it might be done but it needs fixed. But here we go.

It was driving him insane. Just over a week had passed since the rehab job with Jack and for whatever reason Hardison could not get it out of his head that Parker ran right into Eliot’s arms first. Not even a normal running into someone’s arms kind of deal because it was a running, jumping up into his arms like she’d been there before one too many times. He couldn’t stand it. Hardison needed to know.

“So, you. Parker.”

“What?” Eliot never got used to anyone’s cryptic conversations. Things would be much easier if everyone simply said exactly what was on their mind instead of going around robin hood’s barn because they weren’t sure how to ask the question.

“You.” He paused for emphasis. “Parker.”

He glared. “What?”

“Something goin’ on between you and Parker?”

“Between me…and Parker?” Eliot was now searching through his memory trying to figure out where it was he was so obvious that Hardison came to the conclusion there was anything going on with the two of them.

“Yes.” Hardison was becoming annoyed. “Is there something going on between you and Parker? Man, I thought you could understand simple questions. It isn’t some sort of computer question I know you can’t answer.”

“I can answer computer questions…if they’re basic ones like control/alt/delete.” He knew Hardison was shocked at his statement so he explained. “Yes, I pay attention. I don’t know much but I do pay attention. I might be alone somewhere and need to do something…check an email or change a password so I pay attention.” He thought maybe if he changed the subject Hardison might go off on one of his programming tangents and forget about whatever Parker question he was asking.

“Anyway, you. Parker. She ran to you. Jumped up on you like she’d been there before…in your arms. Like there is something going on between you and Parker. I’m just sayin’ is all.”

“She was drugged. I was not the only one she hugged.”

“You were the first one she hugged.”

“So.” He was wondering why Hardison sounded hurt.

“So?”

“Yeah.”

“What?”

“Huh?” Eliot looked at Hardison and shook his head wondering how a man could confuse him the way he does when so often he thought it was just women that could confuse him.

“Look, I am just sayin. You were the first one. She ran. She jumped. Thought you might want to share something sincce we’re stuck in here again in your vehicle trying to find someone. And ya won’t let me have any more slushies and I haven’t been able to have a burger or anything in here in weeks. Plenty of time to sit and think.”

“Blue slushies. Don’t forget it was blue. You’re messy. You don’t clean up when you make a mess in my vehicle and it is easier to keep it out than to keep cleaning up after you.”

“And you are changing the subject again.”

Eliot sighed knowing the other man would not let it go and would nag until he gave an answer. “Point A to Point B is all it was. I was closest to the sidewalk when she left rehab. She was running, I was there, she jumped because she was running.”

Hardison looked at him. “Point A to Point B? Really Eliot? Really?”

“Guys listen. Our mark should be coming through the door any minute.” Nate needed to stop this conversation before it got anymore out of hand. “And one last time, lets all remember that when we are on a job we have our ears. Everyone has ears. Everyone can hear everything we say no matter where we might be or how far away from whomever it is we’re ranting on about in our vehicles.” Nathan couldn’t help but listen and he was curious himself as to why she ran into Eliot’s arms first so he let the conversation go on a little longer than he should have. He decided to stop it when he saw the look on Parker’s face knowing she was trying to figure out what Eliot might say and how to fix anything out of his mouth.

Eliot closed his eyes and furrowed his brows. The last thing he wanted was for anyone else to hear their conversation. He knew better. Eliot knew if he was on a job, everyone could hear every word muttered, no matter how softly. Eliot knew better and yet he ended up distracted and screwed up royally.

So if anyone is out there reading this and enjoys leverage I hope ya like it. There's spoilers I suppose I should say from the last episode.
