Fic: TV Mirrors Reality
Title: TV mirrors Reality
Pairing Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan
Rating: R for language
Warnings/Spoiler/author's note: Well, this was just my mind wandering after watching the episode where Danny 'hearts' Steve as he's being saved from his fall off the cliff. I always wonder if they check anything out online and what might go through their minds when they do. Also, this has not been beta'd at all so mistakes are mine. shanachie_quill for the title because I royally suck at titles and without one this wouldn't be posted yet!! :D
Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Hawaii Five-0. I do not know Alex or Scott so I have no idea if this could or would or has ever happened and mean absolutely no harm with the silly wanderings of my mind.
Summary: This is Alex looking at fansites and having a little conversation with Scott. :D
"Why do you read that shit online all of the time? What now? Reviews again? The tabloids?"
"Nope, reading fan sites. They're kind of obsessed."
"Ya think?" Scott finished his beer and waited for Alex's wonderful insight on the obsessions of Hawaii Five-0 fans.
"Ha! We're canon!" Alex laughed. "And I've even seen where we're cannon with two Ns and I'm wondering which one of us blows up first."
"Blows up?"
"Yeah, see?" Alex moved his laptop closer to Scott so he could read the screen. He was grinning as he watched Scott reading and chuckled when Scott saw the misspelling and smiled.
Scott stood and walked over to the refrigerator to grab two more beers while saying "Technically we aren't canon. It's Steve and Danny that are canon and I really don't think they're canon the way the fans are hoping they're canon."
"What?"
Scott sighed and lowered his head, counted to five and started again. "Danny hearts Steve but they're not having sex yet like the fans want them to."
"Ahh, so that's why we're not part of what the fans now think is canon."
Scott gave Alex a puzzled look and prepared himself for the explanation he knew would follow if he waited long enough.
"We are having sex. Steve and Danny aren't yet. So we are the canon they want Steve and Danny to be but Steve and Danny are not quite complete canon yet." Alex beamed with pride knowing he's got it all figured out now after downing a few beers.
"Yeah, exactly." Scott shook his head and held back a grin knowing Alex would take it to mean he is again the most brilliant man in the world when it came to figuring out the fans and what they love.
Alex read a while longer before he asked "So, when do you think Steve and Danny will fuck?"
Scott happened to choose the exact wrong moment to take a sip of his beer and proceeded to spit it out all over himself while thankful it was just a sip. "What?"
"When are they gonna fuck? Well, I guess they kiss first. Damn, it might take a while before we get to fuck."
Scott shook his head and wondered exactly how many beers Alex already had before he started keeping count. "Alex. We won't fuck on TV. I highly doubt Steve and Danny would fuck on TV either. I'm pretty sure there's not going to be kissing either or at least not any kisses between our characters."
"I say we slip a kiss in and keep on slipping them in until they keep one on film for an episode." Alex was beginning to get that look of determination on his face that always seemed to scare Scott a little bit more every single time he saw it, knowing it would only lead to trouble for the both of them.
"We'll get fired." Scott stated.
"Nah, they won't fire us."
Scott looked at Alex like he was certain the other man had lost his mind completely. "You honestly think that if we tried to continuously slip in a kiss that they wouldn't fire us on the spot?"
"Ya think?"
"It is CBS Alex. Have you seen the looks we've gotten when we've kissed as Alex and Scott off camera when we think no one is watching?"
"They're always watchin' Babe."
"Yeah, exactly. And we'd be fired if we forced their hand by getting an on screen kiss between Steve and Danny no matter how much Danny hearts Steve." He shook his head again before adding, "I knew this would get you all riled up when the episode aired. You and your obsession with my mouth."
"Oh, my obsession with your mouth? Funny, I always thought it was the other way around. That you were the one obsessed with my mouth." Alex couldn't help but lick his lips after a statement like that knowing full well what it would do to Scott.
Scott leaned over and kissed Alex soundly on the lips, leaned back and said "Yeah, maybe you're right about this one. I am a bit obsessed with your mouth." He grinned at the man sitting next to him and had trouble remembering what his life had been like before Alex O'Loughlin bounded into it. Then Scott realized he did not want to remember his earlier life at all because he would miss Alex terribly if he wasn't there. "I love you babe."
"I love you too Scotty." Alex chuckled, scooted closer to Scott making sure their bodies were touching as much as possible without him literally being on Scott's lap. This was when he seemed to be at his happiest or at least his happiest times without Saxon being there too. Alex felt like he could purr if he had the ability even if he knew Scott would think he was more insane that he already did. Instead he sat quietly reading, listening to Scott's steady breathing while wishing they could stay like this forever.
